All the current Officials of the Society for the period from July 2023 to the end of June 2043 are shown below.

GRAEME TAPLIN - President

At the Annual General Meeting held in June 2022 Keith Garnham completed his term of office as President and Graeme Taplin was elected unopposed to serve as President. Graeme will remain in office until the 2024 AGM when he is required to stand down having completed two years in office.

 

The Officers of the Society

The Officers are responsible for managing the activities of the Society and control on a day to day basis all funds and expenditure of the Society and ensures that all monies are applied in furthering the interests and objectives of the Society. The Officers are elected annually and remain in post until the next AGM. The Officers meet regularly every 4 to 6 weeks.

 

Committee Members

The Committee will meet at least two (2) times each year to sign-off the annual plans and budget presented by the Officers and to discuss actions, monitor progress to date and consider future developments. Minutes will be kept of all Committee meetings. The full committee comprises the following:

  • The Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, General Secretary, Treasurer, Programme, Secretary, and Membership Secretary who will all serve as ‘Officers’ of the
    Society and in addition, a maximum of four (4) members of the Society who are elected anually to serve as Full Committee members.

  • The Committee has the power to co-opted a maximum of three (3) other members of the Society who may attend all Committee meetings with full voting rights.

Maurice Young currently acts as Competition and Exhibition Secretary.

Other Administration tasks and projects

Besides the appinted Officials of the Society there are a number of members who all contribute in many different ways to the success of NDPS - from those who organise and lead the regular Special Interest Group events, assist with our Social Media activities to those who help set up the hall for our regular Tuesday meetings and make sure that refreshments are always provided.
If you have a particular skill such as IT, website development and Social Media or simply have a little time to spare either an hour or two each week or to contribute to one of our current initiatives we would like to hear from you. In the first istance talk to one of the Officers.
